Traditional dance and music are performed in special occasions. Bodu Beru, literally  is one of the oldest surviving aspect of Dhivehi culture. The Bodu Beru is well-known performance of traditional music and dance. Men and ladies enjoy to celebrate special occasions. Bodu Beru performance consists in a group of around 15 people who sings, and play drums. They sing songs about love, humor, heroism, the rhythmic begin slowly and become frenetic. There are different ways to dance Bodu Beru.

Other top traditional music and dances practiced in the Maldives Islands are Bandiyaa, performed by woman and Thaara, performed by male.
